Digital Collections

The Yorba Linda Public Library is dedicated to making the Local History Collection as easily available to the public as possible. To accomplish this task, the following materials have been digitized and are available online:

  • Yorba Linda Its History This book traces the history of Yorba Linda from the hacienda era through 1970. Written by March Butz, a former Yorba Linda librarian, it was originally published in 1970, with a second edition appearing in 1979.

  • Between Times Collection A collection of first person narratives from the newsletter Between Times, which is published by the Yorba Linda Heritage Museum and Historical Society. (Reprinted by permission of the Yorba Linda Heritage Museum and Historical Society).

  • Historic Documents including letters, articles, and ephemera.

  • Jessamyn West Collection A collection of articles from the Yorba Linda Star written by and about noted Yorba Linda author Jessamyn West between 1944 and 1984. (Reprinted by permission from the Orange County Register).

  • The "Pink Lady" Ghost Story A collection of articles from the Yorba Linda Star written between 1978 and 1998 about Yorba Linda's famous "Pink Lady" ghost. (Reprinted by permission from the Orange County Register).

  • Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden Collection A collection of magazine and newspaper articles and pamphlets relating to the Santa Ana Botanic Gardens and the Susanna Bixby Bryant Ranch House and Museum.   • Richard M. Nixon Oral History Project A collection of oral histories on early Yorba Linda and President Richard M. Nixon conducted for the Oral History Program, sponsored by the California State University at Fullerton.
